I am new to VMAN and currently struggling to get past the Solarwinds Data Collector configuration wizard. What is the Solarwinds Virtualization Manager Server Address ? Is this the orion server or the appliance i have tried both and it comes back stating could not find Solarwinds virtualization manager server at the address. Help!

Do I add ESX hosts as node or 'poll for VMware' and add as ESX host, if I have VMAN and vCenter added to it?
We got licenses for VMAN and added vCenter for polling. In this case, what do I do with existing 100 ESX hosts which were added as ESX hosts?
What is the suggested way to do this, adding all ESX hosts by using poll for VMware or just add as a node?

Querying phantom snapshot files
We seem to be in a situation where a large number of phantom snapshots have accumulated on some of our datastores. I would like to be able to run a query or report which shows the list of orphaned files, but I haven't been able to figure out what that query should be. Can anyone help me out?

Are there any plans to add VMware VIew (VDI) specific monitoring to this platform.Being able to monitor things like:
- connection servers
- pools
- desktops
- connection statistics
Also be able to drill down to underlying storage/network issues under the View environment.

Vcenter Status Unknown after vcenter update
I have looked over similar threads but could not find an answer in any of them for my issue. We currently have VMAN v8.2 monitoring two vcenter nodes. We updated one of the vcenter nodes to Vcenter 6.5.0.22000 Build 9451637 and now solar winds is reporting the operational state as "unknown". If I check the node itself, it is reporting correctly. The individual esxi hosts are also still reporting in correctly. The vcenter box that we did not update is still reporting in correctly and is showing Vcenter status as "Up". Polling method is vman orion. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Problem Description:
When adding a node, I am unable to successfully "Test" the credentials within the VMware Polling Settings. After attempting to validate the credentials it finally gives up with the error message "Test Failed. Cannot login with selected vCenter or ESX credential." Without question, the credentials are correct. I have no issue with our ESXi 6.0 hosts and their vCenter, but cannot get it working for ESXi 6.7. Is our version of the software not compatible with 6.7? If not, does anyone know if it's compatible with ESXi 6.5?

Haprdware details not polling in ESX host
Hi, We have a ESX server in Vmware5.5 version. We are able to poll all the data including host servers except hardware details. In the hardware details we are getting the error as Hardware polling failed: Polling of chassis (CIM_Chassis class) failed. The operation has timed out. Can some one please help me why this is happening.

Manually Registering a SolarWinds License
When using Virtualization Manager 6.2 and higher, you have a secondary license for use with an Orion server instance. If the Orion server does not have external internet access, the license will not be able to register. There is, however, a manual process that can be followed to register the license and apply it to the server. Follow the instruction on the knowledge base article here, and you will be able to have your Orion server fully licensed for integration with the Virtualization Manager appliance.

Account permissions required for VMAN recommendations
hi, hope anyone can help. im looking for information on what SLW Account permissions are required to use Recommendations as i cant find it anywhere in docs and support hasn't been able to answer that question .
In our environment most of the users have non-admin SLW account permissions. When i enable Recommendations under Account settings, user can see the initial recommendations page but when trying to open some of those recommendations getting error 403 Access denied.

Capacity Planning Reports
I am running these reports against our production environment and when running a scenario where I am adding new VMs the results are a bit confusing. Under the CPU usage section it shows that we are no where near capacity. However, under the available virtual capacity section with the VM profiles it shows that we do not have sufficient resources for new VMs and the constraint is CPU. The only reasoning I can come up with is that the physical core count is too low since actual utilization is not high (~40%). If this is the case, it seems like it could be made clearer in the report. Or, if there is something I am missing, what could it be?
